It may be a while before we find out how accurate this statement was, but it’s looking more and more like our time with those characters has gone by.įinding the game can be rewarding in and of itself. Dontnod created a magical world and Deck Nine has filled in the gaps in a masterful way. Somehow they found a way to bid goodbye to these characters before the real story ever begins. In our review for the bonus episode that came with Before the Storm, we said that at the conclusion of the episode it’s hard not to feel as though this is our farewell forever to Max and Chloe, and that may be the most heartbreaking part of the episode. While we do have these snippets, it’s unclear as to how Chris’s tale intertwines with Arcadia Bay, if it does at all. It felt like we would have little snippets here and there that would remind us that we are in the same universe that Max and Chloe have long since occupied and Chris’s story would somehow connect to theirs. At E3 Dontnod introduced the game, making it feel like a standalone experience and one that would tell a complete vignette about a boy named Chris who loved superheroes so much that he believed he was one.
